Heir and the Sun’ is a playful word mashing of lines from the Smith song ‘How soon is now?’. This title hitches and drives the multiple compartmentalized ideas in the images. The work is a homage to pre-film photography of Eadweard Muybridge and the late 20th century conceptual photographers Bernd and Hilla Bechner. This set of images taken alongside the Bruce Highway near where I live captures the early morning sun light upon the landscape. My practice is intuitively drawn to the light and dark, and the human condition’s relationship to nature.
